Miami International and Fort Lauderdale are both about half an hour from Brickell in clear traffic, and considerably more in season. We watch both, along with Palm Beach for clients further north.
This guide covers how ground transportation works in Miami: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.
The airports
| Code | Airport |
|---|---|
| MIA | Miami International |
| FLL | Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International |
| PBI | Palm Beach International |
| OPF | Miami-Opa Locka, private aviation |
Miami International (MIA) handles most scheduled traffic, with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL), Palm Beach International (PBI), Miami-Opa Locka, private aviation (OPF) covering the rest.
Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.
Where journeys actually go
Most Miami bookings run between the airports and . We also cover the surrounding area and the rest of the metro.
South Florida runs on events and cruises. PortMiami and Port Everglades are regular pickups, and an SUV or van is the sensible choice when a family disembarks with a week of luggage.
When the city is busy
Demand here is driven by cruise embarkation, Art Basel and event season, the winter high season from December to April. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.
Venues that generate regular work include the Miami Beach Convention Center, Fontainebleau, PortMiami. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.
Leaving town
Regular long-distance runs from Miami go to . Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.
What to send when you book
- Pickup address, destination and the date and time
- Flight number for anything airport related
- Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
- Child seats, with ages and weights
- Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs
A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
