Schiphol is unusually straightforward: one terminal complex, well signed, and about twenty minutes from the Zuidas business district when the A4 behaves. That makes it one of the easier airport runs in Europe and one of the worst to underestimate, because the A4 and A10 both seize up predictably in the morning and late afternoon. Getting around Amsterdam

The centre is the complication rather than the airport. The Canal Ring is narrow, one-way, heavily restricted and full of cyclists who have priority in practice as well as law, and the low-emission zone covers most of it. Hotel entrances on the canals often cannot be reached directly, so we agree a workable pickup point when you book instead of discovering it on the day.
