PIT is about 30 minutes west of Downtown when the Parkway is clear, and the tunnels decide the rest.
This guide covers how ground transportation works in Pittsburgh: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.
The airports
| Code | Airport |
|---|---|
| PIT | Pittsburgh International |
| AGC | Allegheny County, private aviation |
Pittsburgh International (PIT) handles most scheduled traffic, with Allegheny County, private aviation (AGC) covering the rest.
Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.
Where journeys actually go
Most Pittsburgh bookings run between the airports and Downtown and the Golden Triangle, Strip District, Oakland, Shadyside. We also cover South Side, North Shore, Cranberry, Robinson and the rest of the metro.
Pittsburgh is a city of bridges and hills where the shortest route on a map is rarely the fastest, which is where local chauffeurs earn their keep.
When the city is busy
Demand here is driven by university and medical work in Oakland, conventions downtown, robotics and technology employers. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.
Venues that generate regular work include the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the Omni William Penn, PPG Paints Arena. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.
Leaving town
Regular long-distance runs from Pittsburgh go to Cleveland, Columbus, Philadelphia, Morgantown. Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.
What to send when you book
- Pickup address, destination and the date and time
- Flight number for anything airport related
- Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
- Child seats, with ages and weights
- Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs
A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
