BWI sits south of the city and serves both Baltimore and the northern Washington suburbs, which makes it a common choice for travellers heading to either.
This guide covers how ground transportation works in Baltimore: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.
The airports
| Code | Airport |
|---|---|
| BWI | Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall |
| DCA | Reagan National, for southern Maryland |
| MTN | Martin State, private aviation |
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI) handles most scheduled traffic, with Reagan National, for southern Maryland (DCA), Martin State, private aviation (MTN) covering the rest.
Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.
Where journeys actually go
Most Baltimore bookings run between the airports and Inner Harbor, Downtown Baltimore, Fells Point, Harbor East. We also cover Canton, Mount Vernon, Towson, Hunt Valley and the rest of the metro.
Most work here runs between the Inner Harbor hotels, the Hopkins campuses and the business parks at Hunt Valley and Columbia, with regular runs down the parkway to Washington.
When the city is busy
Demand here is driven by medical travel to Johns Hopkins, conferences at the Inner Harbor, Washington commuter traffic. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.
Venues that generate regular work include the Baltimore Convention Center, the Four Seasons Baltimore, Johns Hopkins Hospital. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.
Leaving town
Regular long-distance runs from Baltimore go to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Annapolis, Wilmington. Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.
What to send when you book
- Pickup address, destination and the date and time
- Flight number for anything airport related
- Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
- Child seats, with ages and weights
- Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs
A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
