Ground Transportation in Memphis: A Business Traveller's Guide

June 25, 2026· 6 min read·Executifs Luxury Transportation

How chauffeured travel works in Memphis: the airports, the districts cars run between, the weeks the city books out, and what to send us for an accurate quote.

MEM is about 15 minutes from Downtown, one of the shorter airport runs in the country.

This guide covers how ground transportation works in Memphis: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.

The airports

Most scheduled traffic uses Memphis International (MEM).

Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.

Where journeys actually go

Most Memphis bookings run between the airports and Downtown Memphis, Beale Street, Midtown, East Memphis. We also cover Germantown, Collierville, Medical District and the rest of the metro.

Beale Street closures on event nights move pickups a block or two, which local chauffeurs plan for rather than discover.

When the city is busy

Demand here is driven by logistics and freight employers, music tourism, medical district travel. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.

Venues that generate regular work include the Renasant Convention Center, the Peabody Hotel, FedExForum. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.

Leaving town

Regular long-distance runs from Memphis go to Nashville, Little Rock, Tupelo, Jackson. Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.

What to send when you book

  • Pickup address, destination and the date and time
  • Flight number for anything airport related
  • Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
  • Child seats, with ages and weights
  • Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs

A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
