Ground Transportation in Columbus: A Business Traveller's Guide

May 29, 2026· 6 min read·Executifs Luxury Transportation

How chauffeured travel works in Columbus: the airports, the districts cars run between, the weeks the city books out, and what to send us for an accurate quote.

CMH is ten minutes from Downtown, which makes it one of the easiest airport runs in the Midwest.

This guide covers how ground transportation works in Columbus: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.

The airports

John Glenn Columbus International (CMH) handles most scheduled traffic, with Rickenbacker International (LCK) covering the rest.

Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.

Where journeys actually go

Most Columbus bookings run between the airports and Downtown Columbus, Short North, German Village, Easton. We also cover Dublin, Worthington, New Albany, Grandview and the rest of the metro.

Game days at Ohio Stadium close streets across the university district, and pickup points move accordingly.

When the city is busy

Demand here is driven by insurance and retail head offices, university game days, convention traffic. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.

Venues that generate regular work include the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the Hilton Columbus Downtown, Ohio Stadium. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.

Leaving town

Regular long-distance runs from Columbus go to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh. Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.

What to send when you book

  • Pickup address, destination and the date and time
  • Flight number for anything airport related
  • Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
  • Child seats, with ages and weights
  • Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs

A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
