Ground Transportation in New Orleans: A Business Traveller's Guide

June 28, 2026· 6 min read·Executifs Luxury Transportation

How chauffeured travel works in New Orleans: the airports, the districts cars run between, the weeks the city books out, and what to send us for an accurate quote.

MSY is about 25 minutes from the French Quarter outside peak hours, longer during festival weekends.

This guide covers how ground transportation works in New Orleans: which airport suits which destination, where cars can actually collect you, when the city books out, and what to send us so a quote comes back right the first time.

The airports

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY) handles most scheduled traffic, with Lakefront, private aviation (NEW) covering the rest.

Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight number. If the aircraft lands late, the pickup moves with it at no charge, and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign rather than waiting on the arrivals road.

Where journeys actually go

Most New Orleans bookings run between the airports and French Quarter, Central Business District, Garden District, Warehouse District. We also cover Uptown, Marigny, Metairie and the rest of the metro.

Street closures during parades and festivals reshape the map for weeks at a time, and pickup points move with them.

When the city is busy

Demand here is driven by convention traffic, Mardi Gras and festival season, conference and wedding work. Those are the weeks when vehicles book out first, so a booking made early is worth more than a booking made carefully.

Venues that generate regular work include the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the Roosevelt New Orleans, the Superdome. For events at any of them, we agree the drop-off point in advance rather than discovering on the night that the entrance is closed to traffic.

Leaving town

Regular long-distance runs from New Orleans go to Baton Rouge, Gulfport, Mobile, Jackson. Door to door in one car often beats a short flight once airport time is counted, and it is usually cheaper than several separate fares once a group is involved.

What to send when you book

  • Pickup address, destination and the date and time
  • Flight number for anything airport related
  • Passenger count, plus checked and carry-on bags counted separately
  • Child seats, with ages and weights
  • Anything unusual: pets, oversized items, venue access, accessibility needs

A note on pricing. We do not publish rate tables. Every journey is quoted for the exact route and the fare is fixed before you travel, so it does not move with traffic, weather or demand.
